Beliefs:
While not an exhaustive list, the following beliefs we hold will hopefully give you an idea how we approach God and His word.
God: We believe that there is only one God who eternally exists as the Trinity in the Persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man, and that He died and was completely resurrected. We believe that God is the Creator of all that is and that He carries out His purposes for His Glory.
[Matthew. 28:18-19; John 1:3; Hebrews 1:1–4]
THE BIBLE: We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and as such is without error in the original manuscripts. It is God’s Word to humanity, given through human authors that were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is to be believed and obeyed.
[2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21]
Humanity: We believe that all persons are created in the image of God, and as such possess inherent value. However, all persons are also fallen because of sin. This is why everyone deserves death, with no hope of escaping eternal punishment without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
[Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:9-19, 23; Romans 6:23]
Salvation: We believe that people are only saved by grace through putting their trust in Jesus Christ’s death on the cross. All those who trust in Christ for salvation are sealed with the Holy Spirit and saved eternally by God.
[Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16]
Holy Spirit: Our Heavenly Father sends the Holy Spirit to all believers in order to make disciples and build the church by equipping us with various spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit leads the body of Christ to worship in Spirit and Truth, to be transformed in unity and to be empowered to live in true Freedom and serve those in need.
[John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 2:18 and 3:16 and 4:3]
The Church: We believe that the church consists of all people who believe in Christ, and exists to Worship God and to make disciples. To fulfill these two callings, believers should preserve the unity of the church by serving and building up each other in love.
[Ephesians 4:1-16; John 13:34-35]
Christian Maturity: We believe that it is the responsibility of each believer to live a life of submission to Christ. Believers become mature by remaining under the influence of the Holy Spirit as they contend with sin and the temptation of both Satan and the world.
[John 15:1–5; Galatians 5:16–26]
Unity: As a church body we will obey Christ and champion the essential beliefs that promote Faith, Hope and Love. Jesus has called us to a life of unity, to be one just as He and His Father are One. Through the cross, Jesus reconciled people from every nation, tribe and tongue into one so that in the body of Christ there is unity between all believers. Therefore, in the essential beliefs for salvation held in scripture we have unity. In the nonessentials, we have liberty. In all things we have love.
[John 17:20–23; Colossians 3:11; Philippians 2:1–4; Ephesians 1:7–10; Revelation 7:9–10]
